The reason this didn't make the remix comp was because this wasn't finished in time. This released after the closing date, but Linkin Park did give them the support slot for there tour after this came out.

After that first drop, the rest of the song is just a letdown. It's like it's building up for another high-energy drop that just never happens. That basically makes the entire second half of it an elongated outro. Disappointing with how amazing that drop is.

Pragmatic Dissent What are you talking about? This isn't the normal structure of drum and bass, even coming from Pendulum. DnB typically includes TWO drops if not three, and Pendulum is no different in this regard. And what are you even referring to when you say "the same sort of music structure"? The same as what? Linkin Park? The problem is this is TOO CLOSE to the structure of Linkin Park's original version of the song, not too far away. The original features an extremely long and serene outro which works with the nature of the song. It does not work nearly as well with high-energy drum and bass.
Hmm it's somewhat sad to see that 'boundries' are being created for making music these days. There are no rules to music mate, only some social metas ;) In the end it all comes down to opinion though. ^^
mobiuslau There are no rules to music, but there are guidelines to GOOD music. The mindset that "all art is good because it is art" is a plague on society. The structure of this piece of music is poor. Regardless of your personal opinion on how it sounds, nothing will change the fact that the structure has much room for improvement.
